About USHBF
United States Horseball Federation (“USHBF”) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization formed in early 2006 to lead amateur participation in the sport of HORSEBALL across the United States, and to act as the United States’ delegate to the emerging international community that has been organized by the International Horseball Federation (“FIHB”).
The USHBF has been established to ensure that the sport’s leadership body in the U.S. cultivates the utmost respect for horses, team-mates, opponents and officials, with regard to safety and good sportsmanship, across all of its membership from inception.
Consequently, the U.S. HORSEBALL Federation operates in accordance with the rules of the International Horseball Federation (“FIHB”), and is presently applying to the United States Equestrian Federation (“USEF”) for the recognition of HORSEBALL as an official U.S. equestrian event.
The International Equestrian Federation ("FEI") recognized HORSEBALL as an official equestrian discipline in 2004. This recognition, plus the efforts of the FIHB and the Pato Federation, have driven an acceleration in the growth and popularity of HORSEBALL around the world in the past two years.
The USHBF is committed to organizing excellent local-through-national levels of HORSEBALL competition in the US, and its leadership intends to deliver the best management and most rapid growth of any amateur sports federation in the world, equine or otherwise.
The USHBF believes that its astute development of the sport of HORSEBALL in the United States can attract and retain the interest of young people in America who love to participate in team athletics but who may not have had any prior exposure to horses, thereby expanding the total equestrian community in the United States.
