Buenos Aires, Argentina - April 9, 2006.
Horseball players from three continents: Europe, North America and South America met to compete in the very first World Cup of Pato-Horseball and to chart the forward course of the sport at the worldwide level.

US Team Captain and USHBF President Robert Gritz and US Team-mate and USHBF Vice President Jeffrey Gritz represented the United States in global leadership meetings, and on the field, at this landmark event.

With the intensive participation of seasoned French players, the 1st United States Horseball Team was able to perform at an elite level on the field in their first-ever tournament games - winning 2 of 4 matches and finishing 4th among the 10 countries in this first world-wide convention & celebration of the growing sport of Horseball.

1th Portugal 6th Brasil

2nd Argentina 7th Germany
3rd France 8th Spain

4th USA 9th Great Britain
5th Italy 10th Austria

The Captains and Federation Leaders of all ten participating countries met with the executive leadership of the International Federation of HORSEBALL (based in Paris) and the Argentinean Federation of Pato (the variation of HORSEBALL played in that country for centuries). The group discussed the accelerating growth of HORSEBALL around the world, and the need to the unify the sport in South America, North America and Europe so that one globally-competitive landscape is immediately established -- as this is important to the collective goal of seeing that Horseball becomes an Olympic event.
